Keep the Encoded Data Short
More data generally requires a denser symbol or a higher QR version. When the same physical area contains more modules, each module becomes smaller and harder to distinguish.
For web destinations, use a stable concise HTTPS URL. Do not remove meaningful security or destination information merely to shorten it. If you add campaign parameters, generate them intentionally and confirm the final destination before encoding.
Understand Module Size

Do not crop tightly to the dark modules. When placing the asset in a design, verify that the surrounding background remains clear after trimming and export.
Use Strong Contrast
Dark modules on a light, plain background provide a robust baseline. Low contrast, gradients, transparency and busy imagery make it harder for a scanner to separate modules from the background.
If branding requires color, test the actual color values and medium. Do not rely on a design preview alone.

SVG for scalable print artwork
SVG preserves sharp geometric edges when resized in compatible design software. Confirm that the production workflow does not rasterize it at an insufficient resolution.
PNG for fixed pixel dimensions

Match Size to Scanning Distance
A code viewed from farther away needs larger modules. There is no universal ratio that covers every camera, payload and environment. For posters or signs, print a test at the intended size and scan from the expected approach distance, including off-center angles.
For packaging, test curvature, reflections and normal handling. For screens, test brightness, glare and responsive scaling.
Be Careful With Logos and Error Correction
Error correction can allow recovery from some damage, but it is not permission to cover arbitrary parts of the code. A logo changes the symbol and may obscure important modules. Keep modifications restrained and test every final variant.
Higher error correction can increase symbol density for the same payload. The trade-off between recovery and module size should be evaluated in the actual layout.
